Fairies are tiny winged humanoids, about three-quarters the size of a human's leg, with a strong connection to flowering plants and the arcane. Their wings are translucent, sitting somewhere between those of butterflies and beetles, which they can use for omni-directional flight. Compared to the rest of their bodies, they have large heads and big teeth, giving them a ferocious bite. Magic oozes from their bodies in tiny dust-like particles, causing them to leave a trail of sparkles when flying excited.
Fairies do not reproduce sexually as far as researchers have been able to observe. Instead, they spontaneously come into existence when a flowering plant holds a strong grudge. The Fae-folk will then harass the perpetrator using their 'pranks' for the rest of their miserable lives, luckily it's very- very hard to piss off a plant. Despite this, the Fairies tend to be endlessly curious about other kin their mating rituals, and will gleefully take part if an opportunity arises.
The Fairies do not partake in corporate sociality. Their general aloofness, lack of desire to own stuff, and vengeful nature makes completely uncontrollable.
