The Replication

Story

The Replication is an apocalyptic disaster that occurred somewhere between 50 and 60 years ago. Most of the details of this event have been lost to the rampant confusion that followed, but experts have been able to piece together the following things:

Within our world (the human world), a computer virus, later named The Havoc Hex, was born. It was part code, part magic. Such a creation is taboo, a sin so great that reality itself cannot bear the sight of it. And so, wherever it went, reality started to collapse.

The virus rapidly spread throughout the world, tearing holes in the fabric of space-time, merging the spirit realm and our own. The exact date of the occurrence is unknown, as the great panic that followed, combined with the failure of all digital infrastructure, created a period of confusion so insuperable that truth itself died.
